Rimonim (pomegranates) design is most appropriate to be upon an article of prayer since this fruit is Biblically based and a traditional element within Yisraeli culture - it was the same trim design that decorated the garment of the Kohen Gadol (High Priest) anciently Shemot/Ex. 28:33 (which is said to have atoned for Lashon HaRa (Evil Gossip) - speaking evil of another), the 200 copper rimonim upon the beams of the Temple, and the rimonim bells used to decorate our Torah Scrolls, and symbolizes abundance, fertility and wisdom.
