Bereishit 7:19-11:32


19 Vehamayim gaveru me'od me'od al-ha'aretz vayichusu kol-heharim hagevohim asher-tachat kol-hashamayim.
The waters were very powerful over the earth, and they covered all the high mountains which were under all the heavens.

20 Chamesh esreh amah milmalah gavru hamayim vayechusu heharim.
Fifteen cubits above them [the mountains] did the waters prevail and they covered the mountains.

21 Vayigva kol-basar haromes al-ha'aretz ba'of uvabehemah uvachayah uvechol-hasheretz hashoretz al-ha'aretz vechol ha'adam.
All flesh that moved on the earth perished; birds, animals, beasts, and all creeping creatures that creep on the earth and every man.

22 Kol asher nishmat-ruach chayim be'apav mikol asher becharavah metu.
All that has a breath of the spirit of life - everything on dry land - died.

23 Vayimach et-kol-hayekum asher al-penei ha'adamah me'adam ad behemah ad-remes ve'ad-of hashamayim vayimachu min-ha'aretz vayisha'er ach-Noach va'asher ito batevah.
[He] obliterated every being that was on the surface of the ground; from man to animals, to creeping creatures, and to the birds of the heaven. they were obliterated from the earth. Only Noach and those with him in the ark survived.

24 Vayigberu hamayim al-ha'aretz chamishim ume'at yom.
The waters prevailed over the earth for one hundred and fifty days.


The Waters Recede


8:1 Vayizkor Elokim et-Noach ve'et kol-hachayah ve'et-kol-habehemah asher ito batevah vaya'aver Elokim ruach al-ha'aretz vayashoku hamayim.
G-d remembered Noach, and all the beasts and all the animals that were with him in the ark. G-d caused a wind to blow over the earth and the water subsided [cooled off].

2 Vayisachru mayenot tehom va'arubot hashamayim vayikale hageshem min-hashamayim.
The wellsprings of the deep were closed, and [so were] the windows of the heavens, and the downpour from the heavens was withheld.

3 Vayashuvu hamayim me'al ha'aretz haloch vashov vayachseru hamayim miktzeh chamishim ume'at yom.
The water receded from the earth continually, and the waters diminished at the end of one hundred and fifty days.

4 Vatanach hatevah bachodesh hashvi'i beshiv'ah-asar yom lachodesh al harei Ararat.
The ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.

5 Vehamayim hayu haloch vechasor ad hachodesh ha'asiri ba'asiri be'echad lachodesh nir'u rashei heharim.
The waters continued to diminish until the tenth month. In the tenth [month], on the first of the month, the mountaintops became visible.

6 Veyehi miketz arba'im yom vayiftach Noach et-chalon hatevah asher asah.
At the end of forty days, Noach opened the window of the ark which he had made.

7 Vayeshalach et-ha'orev vayetze yatzo vashov ad-yevoshet hamayim me'al ha'aretz.
He sent out the raven, and it went out, going to and fro until the water on the land dried up.

8 Vayeshalach et-hayonah me'ito lir'ot hakalu hamayim me'al penei ha'adamah.
He [then] sent the dove to see if the water had subsided from the surface of the ground.

9 Velo-matz'ah hayonah manoach lechaf-raglah vatashov elav el-hatevah ki mayim al-penei chol-ha'aretz vayishlach yado vayikacheha vayaveh otah elav el-hatevah.
The dove found no [place to] rest her foot. She returned to him in to the ark, for the water was upon the surface of the whole earth. He put out his hand and took her and brought her to him, into the ark.

10 Vayachel od shiv'at yamim acherim vayosef shalach et-hayonah min-hatevah.
He waited another seven days, and once again sent the dove out of the ark.

11 Vatavo elav hayonah le'et erev vehineh aleh-zayit taraf befiha vayeda Noach ki-kalu hamayim me'al ha'aretz.
The dove came to him toward evening, and behold, in her mouth was a torn off olive leaf. Noach knew then that the water had subsided from the earth.

12 Vayiyachel od shiv'at yamim acherim vayeshalach et-hayonah velo-yasfah shuv-elav od.
He waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove; it did not return to him again.

13 Vayehi be'achat veshesh-me'ot shanah barishon be'echad lachodesh charevu hamayim me'al ha'aretz vayasar Noach et-michseh hatevah vayar vehineh charevu penei ha'adamah.
It was in the six hundredth and first yar, in the first [month], on the first of the month, that the water on earth [began] to dry. Noach removed the covering of the ark. He looked and behold the surface of the ground had dried.

14 Uvachodesh hasheni beshive'ah ve'esrim yom lachodesh yaveshah ha'aretz.
In the second month, on the twenty seventh day of the month, the earth was [completely] dry.


Revi'i


15 Vayedaber Elokim el-Noach lemor.
G-d spoke to Noach, saying,

16 Tze min-hatevah atah ve'ishtecha uvaneicha unshei-vaneicha itach.
"Depart from the ark, yourself and your wife, your sons, and your son's wives with you.

17 Kol-hachayah asher itcha mikol-basar ba'of uvabehemah uvechol-haremes haromes al-ha'aretz hayetze itach vesharetzu va'aretz ufaru veravu al-ha'aretz.
Every living thing that is with you, of all flesh, [including] birds, animals, every creeping creature that creeps on the earth, let them depart with you. Let them spread over the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth."

18 Vayetze-Noach uvanav ve'ishto uneshei-vanav ito.
Noach departed [from the ark together with] his sons, his wife and son's wives.

19 Kol-hachayah kol-haremes vechol-ha'of kol-romes al-ha'aretz lemishpechoteihem yatze'u min-hatevah.
Every living thing, every creeping creature, every bird, everything that creeps on the earth, departed from the ark according to their families.


Noach Brings an Offering


20 Vayiven Noach mizbeach l'HASHEM vayikach mikol habehemah hatehorah umikol ha'of hatahor vaya'al olot bamizbeach.
Noach built an altar to HASHEM, and took of every [ritually] clean animal and of every [ritually] clean bird, and brought up burnt-offerings on the altar.

21 Vayarach HASHEM et-re'ach hanichoach vayomer HASHEM el-libo lo osif lekalel od et-ha'adamah ba'avur ha'adam ki yetzer lev ha'adam ra mine'urav velo osif od lehakot et-kol-chai ka'asher asiti.
HASHEM smelled the pleasing fragrance, and HASHEM said in His heart, "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, for the inclination of man's heart is evil from [the time of] his youth. I will never again smite every living thing as I have done.

22 Od kol-yemei ha'aretz zera vekatzir vekor vachom vekayitz vachoref veyom valailah lo yishbotu.
So long as the earth exists, seed-time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, will never be suspended."


9:1 Vayevarech Elokim et-Noach ve'et-banav vayomer lahem peru urevu umil'u et-ha'aretz.
G-d blessed Noach and his sons. He said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth."

2 Umora'achem vechitchem yihyeh al kol-chayat ha'aretz ve'al kol-of hashamayim bechol asher tirmos ha'adamah uvechol-degei hayam beyedchem nitanu.
Your fear and terror will be upon every wild beast of the earth, and upon every bird in the heavens. All that creeps on the ground, and all the fish of the sea, are given into your hands.

3 Kol-remes asher hu-chai lachem yihyeh le-ochlah keyerek esev natati lachem et-kol.
Every moving creature that lives, shall be yours for food; like the green vegetation [which I gave previously] I have [now] given you everything [for food].

4 Ach-basar benafsho damo lo tochelu.
Nevertheless, flesh with its lifeblood, you shall not eat.

5 Ve'ach et-dimchem lenafshoteichem edrosh miyad kol-chayah edreshenu umiyad ha'adam miyad ish achiv edrosh et-nefesh ha'adam.
However, of the blood of your souls, I will demand an account; from the hand of every beast will I demand it. From the hand of man, even from the hand of man's own brother, will I demand an account of man's soul.

6 Shofech dam ha'adam ba'adam damo yishafech ki betzelem Elokim asah et-ha'adam.
He who spills the blood of man, through man shall his blood be spilled, for in the image of G-d, He made man.

7 Ve'atem peru urevu shirtzu va'aretz urevu-vah.
And now be fruitful and multiply, spread throughout the earth and multiply on it.


Chamishi


8 Vayomer Elokim el-Noach ve'el banav ito lemor.
G-d said to Noach and to his sons with him, saying:

9 Va'ani hineni mekim et-beriti itechem ve'et-zar'achem achareichem.
"Behold, I am making a covenant with you and with your offspring after you.

10 Ve'et kol-nefesh hachayah asher itchem ba'of babehemah uvechol-chayat ha'aretz itechem mikol yot'sei hatevah lechol chayat ha'aretz.
And with every living creature that is with you, with the birds, the animals, and all the beasts of the earth with you, all who departed from the ark, including every living creature on earth.

11 Vahakimoti et-beriti itchem velo-yikaret kol-basar od mimei hamabul velo-yihyeh od mabul leshachet ha'aretz.
I will keep My covenant with you, that never again will all flesh be cut off by flood waters, never again will flood waters destroy the earth."

12 Vayomer Elokim zot ot-habrit asher-ani noten beini uveineichem uvein kol-nefesh chayah asher itchem ledorot olam.
G-d said, "This is the sign of the covenant that I pledge between Myself and you, and between every living creature that is with you, for the generations of all time.

13 Et-kashti natati be'anan vehayetah le'ot berit beini uvein ha'aretz.
I have set my [rain] bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between Myself and the earth.

14 Vehayah be'aneni anan al-ha'aretz venir'atah hakeshet be'anan.
At a time when I bring clouds over the earth, the [rain] bow will be seen in the clouds.

15 Vezacharti et-briti asher beini uveineichem uvein kol-nefesh chayah bechol-basar velo-yihyeh od hamayim lemabul leshachet kol-basar.
I shall remember My covenant that is between Myself and you, and between every living soul in all flesh, that never again will flood waters destroy all flesh.

16 Vehayetah hakeshet be'anan ure'itiha lizkor berit olam bein Elokim uvein kol-nefesh chayah bechol-basar asher al-ha'aretz.
The [rain] bow shall be in the clouds, and I will see it to remember the eternal covenant between G-d and between every living soul that is in all flesh that is on the earth."

17 Vayomer Elokim el-Noach zot ot-habrit asher hakimoti beini uvein kol-basar asher al-ha'aretz.
G-d said to Noach, "This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between Myself and between all flesh that is on the earth."


Shishi

18 Vayihyu venei-Noach hayotze'im min-hatevah Shem veCham vaYafet veCham hu avi Chena'an.
The sons of Noach, who went out of the ark where Shem, Yafet, and Cham; Cham was the father of Kenaan.

19 Shloshah eleh benei-Noach ume'eleh naftzah chol-ha'aretz.
These three were the sons of Noach, and from these, the whole world developed.


The Intoxication and Shame of Noach


20 Vayachel Noach ish ha'adamah vayita karem.
Noach began to be a man of the soil and he planted a vineyard.

21 Vayesht min-hayayin vayishkar vayitgal betoch aholoh.
He drank of the wine and was intoxicated. He [then] uncovered himself in his tent.

22 Vayar Cham avi Chena'an et ervat aviv vayaged lishnei-echav bachutz.
Cham the father of Kenaan saw the nakedness of his father, and told it to his brothers [who were] outside.

23 Vayikach Shem vaYefet et-hasimlah vayasimu al-shchem shneihem vayelchu achoranit vayechasu et ervat avihem ufneihem achoranit ve'ervat avihem lo ra'u.
Shem and Yafet took the cloak, placed it on their shoulders, and walked backwards, covering the nakedness of their father. They faced away from him, and did not see the nakedness of their father.

24 Vayiketz Noach miyeno vayeda et asher-asah lo beno hakatan.
Noach awoke from his wine [induced sleep] and he realized what had been done to him by his youngest son.

25 Vayomer arur Kena'an eved avadim yihyeh le'echav.
He said, "Cursed is Kenaan. A slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers."

26 Vayomer baruch HASHEM Elokei Shem viyihi Chena'an eved lamo.
He then said, "Blessed is HASHEM, G-d of Shem; may Kenaan be his slave.

27 Yaft Elokim leYefet veyishkon be'aholei-Shem viyihi Chena'an eved lamo.
G-d will enlarge Yafet, but He will dwell in the tents of Shem, and Kenaan will be their slave."

28 Vayechi Noach achar hamabul shlosh me'ot shanah vachamishim shanah.
After the Flood, Noach lived three hundred and fifty years.

29 Vayehi kol-yemei-Noach tsha me'ot shanah vachamishim shanah vayamot.
All the days of Noach totaled nine hundred and fifty years, and he died.


The Descendants of Noach: The Seventy Nations


10:1 Ve'eleh toldot benei Noach Shem Cham vaYefet vayivaledu lahem banim achar hamabul.
These are the histories of Noach's sons, Shem, Cham and Yafet. Children were born to them after the Flood.

2 Benei Yefet Gomer uMagog uMadai veYavan veTuval uMeshech veTiras.
The sons of Yefet were: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Yavan, and Tuval, Meshech, and Tiras.

3 Uvenei Gomer Ashkenaz veRifat veTogarmah.
The sons of Gomer were: Ashkenaz, Rifat, and Togarmah.

4 Uvenei Yavan Elishah veTarshish Kitim veDodanim.
The sons of Yavan were: Elishah and Tarshish, the Kittim and the Dodanim.

5 Me'eleh niferedu iyei hagoyim be'artzotam ish lileshono lemishpechotam begoyehem.
From these the nations were separated into islands, [set apart] in their own lands, each to its language, according to their families in their nations.

6 Uvenei Cham Kush uMitzrayim uFut uChena'an.
The sons of Cham were: Kush, Mitzrayim, Put, and Kenaan.

7 Uvenei Kush Seva vaChavilah veSavta veRamah veSavtecha uvnei Ramah Sheva uDedan.
The sons of Kush were: Seva, Chavilah, and Savtah, and Raamah, and Savtecha. The sons of Raamah were: Sheva and Dedan.

8 VeKush yalad et-Nimrod hu hechel lihyot gibor ba'aretz.
Kush produced [a son] Nimrod. He began to be powerful on earth.

9 Hu-hayah gibor-tza'id lifnei HASHEM al-ken ye'amar keNimrod gibor tza'id lifnei HASHEM.
He was a mighty hunter before HASHEM. It is therefore said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before HASHEM."

10 Vatehi reshit mamlachto Bavel ve'Erech ve'Akad veKalneh be'eretz Shin'ar.
The beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, Erech, Akad, and Kalneh in the land of Shinar.

11 Min-ha'aretz hahi yatza Ashshur vayiven et-Nineveh ve'et-Rechovot ir ve'et-Kelach.
Ashshur departed that land, and he built Nineveh, Rechovot Ir and Kalach.

12 Ve'et-Resen bein Nineveh uvein Kalach hi ha'ir hagdolah.
[He also built] Resen between Nineveh and Kalach. This was the great city.

13 UMitzrayim yalad et-Ludim ve'et-Anamim ve'et-Lehavim ve'et-Naftuchim.
Mitzrayim produced [the following nations]: Ludim, Anamim, Lehavim and the Naftuchim.

14 Ve'et-Patrusim ve'et-Kasluchim asher yatze'u misham Plishtim ve'et Kaftorim.
[Also] the Patrusim, and the Kasluchim, from whom came the Pelishtim and the Kaftorim.

15 UChena'an yalad et-Tzidon bechoro ve'et-Chet.
Kenaan produced his first-born, Tzidon, and Chet.

16 Ve'et-haYevusi ve'et-ha'Emori ve'et-haGirgashi.
[And] the Yevusi, the Emori, the Girgashi,

17 Ve'et-haChivvi ve'et-ha'Arki ve'et-haSini.
the Chivvi, the 'Arki, the Sini,

18 Ve'et-ha'Arvadi ve'et-haTzmari ve'et-haChamati ve'achar nafotzu mishpechot haKna'ani.
the Arvadi, the Tzmari, and the Chamati. Later, the families of the Kenaani [further] developed.

19 Vayehi gvul haKena'ani miTzidon boachah Gerarah ad-Azzah boachah Sedomah va'Amorah ve'Admah uTzvoyim ad-Lesha.
The borders of the Kenaanim were from Tzidon toward Gerarah until 'Azzah, toward Sedomah, 'Amorah, Admah, and Tzvoyim, until Lasha.

20 Eleh venei-Cham lemishpechotam lileshonotam be'artzotam begoyehem.
These are the sons of Cham according to their families, and their languages, in their lands and in their nations.

21 UleShem yulad gam-hu avi kol-bnei-Ever achi Yefet hagadol.
Sons were also born to Shem, father of the Children of the Other Side. He was the brother of Yafet, the elder.

22 Bnei Shem Elam ve'Ashshur ve'Arpachshad veLud va'Aram.
The sons of Shem were: 'Elam, Ashshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.

23 Uvenei Aram Utz veChul veGeter vaMash.
The sons of Aram were: 'Utz, Chul, Geter, and Mash.

24 Ve'Arpachshad yalad et-Shalach veShelach yalad et-Ever.
Arpachshad produced Shelach, and Shelach produced 'Ever.

25 Ule-Ever yulad shenei vanim shem ha'echad Peleg ki veyamav niflegah ha'aretz veshem achiv Yaktan.
Two sons were born to 'Ever, the name of one was Peleg, for in his days the earth['s inhabitants] were dispersed, and his brother's name was Yaktan.

26 VeYaktan yalad et-Almodad ve'et-Shalef ve'et-Chatzarmavet ve'et-Yarach.
Yaktan produced Almodad, Shelef, Chatzarmavet, Yarach,

27 Ve'et-Hadoram ve'et-Uzal ve'et-Diklah.
[also] Hadoram, Uzal, and Diklah,

28 Ve'et-Oval ve'et-Avima'el ve'et-Sheva.
[also] 'Oval, Avimael, Sheva,

29 Ve'et Ofir ve'et-Chavilah ve'et-Yovav kol-eleh bnei Yaktan.
[also] Ofir, Chavilah, and Yovav. All these were sons of Yaktan.

30 Vayehi moshavam miMesha boachah Sfarah har hakedem.
Their dwelling place was from Mesha toward Sefarah, the eastern mountain.

31 Eleh venei-Shem lemishpechotam lileshonotam be'artzotam legoyehem.
These are the sons of Shem, according to their families and their languages, in their lands and in their nations.

32 Eleh mishpechot bnei-Noach letoldotam begoyehem ume'eleh nifredu hagoyim ba'aretz achar hamabul.
These are the families of the sons of Noach, according to their descendants and in their nations. From these the nations were separated on the earth after the Flood.


Shevi'i


The Tower of Bavel and The Dispersion


11:1 Vayehi chol-ha'aretz safah echat udevarim achadim.
The whole earth had one language, with conforming words.

2 Vayehi benos'am mikedem vayimtze'u vik'ah be'eretz Shin'ar vayeshvu sham.
When they journeyed from the east, they found a valley in the land of Shinar and they settled there.

3 Vayomeru ish el-re'ehu havah nilbenah levenim venisrefah lisrefah vatehi lahem halvenah le'aven vehachemar hayah lahem lachomer.
They said one to another, "Come, let us mold bricks and bake them thoroughly." They then had bricks to use as stone, and the clay for mortar.

4 Vayomeru havah nivneh-lanu ir umigdal verosho bashamayim vena'aseh-lanu shem pen-nafutz al-penei kol-ha'aretz.
Then they said, "Come, we will build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top will reach the heavens. Thus we will make ourselves a name, so that we will not be scattered all over the face of the earth."

5 Vayered HASHEM lir'ot et-ha'ir ve'et-hamigdal asher banu bnei ha'adam.
HASHEM descended to see the city and the tower that the sons of man built.

6 Vayomer HASHEM hen am echad vesafah achat lechulam vezeh hachilam la'asot ve'atah lo-yibatzer mehem kol asher yazmu la'asot.
HASHEM said, "Behold, they are one people, all having one language, and this is their first undertaking. Now will nothing be unattainable for them, [to do] whatever they have a mind to do?

7 Havah nerdah venavlah sham sefatam asher lo yishme'u ish sfat re'ehu.
Come, let us descend and jumble their language, that they will not understand one another's language."

8 Vayafetz HASHEM otam misham al-penei chol-ha'aretz vayachdelu livnot ha'ir.
HASHEM scattered them from there all over the face of the earth, and they stopped building the city.

9 Al-ken kara shemah Bavel ki-sham balal HASHEM sfat kol-ha'aretz umisham hefitzam HASHEM al-penei kol-ha'aretz.
Therefore He called its name, Bavel, for this was the place where HASHEM jumbled the language of all the earth; and from there, HASHEM scattered them all over the face of the earth.


The Ten Generations from Noach to Avraham


10 Eleh toldot Shem Shem ben-me'at shanah vayoled et-Arpachshad shnatayim achar hamabul.
These are the histories of Shem: Shem was a hundred years old, and he had Arpachshad two years after the Flood.

11 Veyechi-Shem acharei holido et-Arpachshad chamesh me'ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
Shem lived after he had Arpachshad, five hundred years, and he had sons and daughters.

12 Ve'Arpachshad chai chamesh ushloshim shanah vayoled et-Shalach.
Arpachshad lived thirty-five years and had Shelach.

13 Vayechi Arpachshad acharei holido et-Shelach shalosh shanim ve'arba me'ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
Arpachshad lived, after he had Shelach, four hundred and three years and he had sons and daughters.

14 VeShelach chai shloshim shanah vayoled et-'Ever.
Shelach lived thirty years and had 'Ever.

15 Vayechi-Shelach acharei holido et-'Ever shalosh shanim ve'arba me'ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
After he had 'Ever, Shelach lived four hundred and three years, and he had sons and daughters.

16 Vayechi 'Ever arba ushloshim shanah vayoled et-Paleg.
'Ever lived thirty-four years and had Paleg.

17 Vayechi-'Ever acharei holido et-Peleg shloshim shanah ve'arba me'ot shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
After he had Paleg, 'Ever lived four hundred and thirty years, and he had sons and daughters.

18 Vayechi-Feleg shloshim shanah vayoled et-Re'u.
Paleg lived thirty yeas and had Reu.

19 Vayechi-Feleg acharei holido et-Re'u tesha shanim umatayim shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
After he had Reu, Peleg lived two hundred and nine years, and had sons and daughters.

20 Vayechi Re'u shtayim ushloshim shanah vayoled et-Srug.
Reu lived thirty-two years and had Serug.

21 Vayechi Re'u acharei holido et-Srug sheva shanim umatayim shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
After he had Serug, Reu lived two hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters.

22 Vayechi Srug shloshim shanah vayoled et-Nachor.
Serug lived thirty years and had Nachor.

23 Vayechi Srug acharei holido et-Nachor matayim shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
After he had Nachor, Serug lived two hundred years, and had sons and daughters.

24 Vayechi Nachor tesha ve'esrim shanah vayoled et-Tarach.
Nachor lived twenty-nine years and had Terach.

25 Vayechi Nachor acharei holido et-Terach tesha-esreh shanah ume'at shanah vayoled banim uvanot.
After he had Terach, Nachor lived one hundred and nineteen years, and had sons and daughters.

26 Vayechi Terach shive'im shanah vayoled et-Avram et-Nachor ve'et-Haran.
Terach lived seventy years and had Avram, Nachor and Haran.

27 Ve'eleh toldot Terach Terach holid et-Avram et-Nachor ve'et Haran veHaran holid et-Lot.
These are the histories of Terach. Terach produced Avram, Nachor, and Haran. Haran produced Lot.

28 Vayamot Haran al-penei Terach aviv be'eretz moladeto beUr kasdim.
Haran died during the lifetime of his father Terach, in the land of his birth in Ur Kasdim.

29 Vayikach Avram veNachor lahem nashim shem eshet-Avram Sarai veshem eshet-Nachor Milkah bat-Haran avi-Milkah va'avi Yiskah.
Avram and Nachor married. The name of Avram's wife was Sarai, and the name of Nachor's wife was Milkah, the daughter of Haran [who was] the father of Milkah and Yiskah.

30 Vatehi Sarai akarah ein lah valad.
Sarai was barren, she had no child.

31 Vayikach Terach et-Avram beno ve'et Lot ben-Haran ben-beno ve'et Sarai kalato eshet Avram beno vayetze'u itam meUr kasdim lalechet artzah Kena'an vayavo'u ad-Charan vayeshvu sham.
Terach took his son, Avram, and Lot, the son of Haran, his grandson, and Sarai, his daughter-in-law, the wife of his son, Avram. With them he departed from Ur Kasdim, to go to the land of Kenaan. [When] they came to Charan [however], they settled there.

32 Vayihi'u yemei-Terach chamesh shanim umatayim shanah vayamot Terach beCharan.
The lifetime of Terach was two hundred and five years. Terach died in Charan.
